GCCL 2024 Monthly Reading Challenge
Welcome to the 2024 GCCL Monthly Reading Challenge! Each month, read a book based on the monthly challenge theme. A winner will be announced every month, usually the first week of the month.
Here's how to participate:
Each month complete the challenge and submit a form. Challenge forms can be turned in at the library or submitted right here online.
With each challenge form, you will be entered into a monthly raffle for a $10 gift card to a local business.
To be eligible for the monthly prize, forms must be turned in by the last day of every month and must include the title, author, and a rating of the book. Please provide contact information - name and phone number.
A grand prize raffle will be held at the end of the year. Each monthly submission will automatically enter you for the grand prize. The more months you participate the bigger your odds of winning the grand prize! The grand prize winner will be held in January 2025.
Registration is not required and the program is free to the public. You don't have to be registered patron to participate.
The goals are to inspire, try new genres, and expand our love of reading! This program is sponsored by the Valley County Friends of the Library.
To submit a form for the reading challenge, please fill out the cells below and hit send. Your information will be sent directly to our staff emails and entered into the monthly prize drawing. This month's challenge submissions are due by midnight on February 29, 2024.
2024 Monthly Book Themes
January – Self-help.
February – A book that is 250 pages or less.
March – A book that won an award.
April – A book that has a flower on the cover in the title.
May – A book that challenges or inspires you.
June – A book that was made into to movie.
July – A book set during wartime.
August – A book you own but have not read.
September – The first book you touch on a shelf with your eyes closed.
October – A book published before 1970.
November - Historical fiction book.
December - Autobiography or memoir.
