Masks or face covering use required for ages five and older when entering the Glasgow City-County Library.  Governor Bullock issued an executive order on July 15, 2020 requiring the use of masks for counties with four or more active COVID-19 cases.  To check the status of Valley County, and other Montana counties, select the blue button provided above: Montana Response.  Visit covid19.mt.gov for more information.

Curbside services are always an option.  If you are uncomfortable coming inside the library, we are happy to fulfill your items at the curbside.  Please make prior arrangements with us: call, email (see the contact tab above) or submit an online hold.

The following measures are being instituted at GCCL:

  • Returns: To protect library staff, patrons are asked to keep returned items AWAY from the circ desk area.  Please use the book drop, and/or put items on a designated cart that is set inside when first entering the library.  The cart is labeled with a yellow sign and set away from the circ desk near the restrooms.

  • Curbside:  Curbside services are always an option.  If you are uncomfortable coming inside the library, we are happy to fulfill your items at the curbside.  Please make prior arrangements with us.

  • Inside the Library: Patrons are asked not to linger long.  Please be respectful to staff and other visitors by following signs and guidelines.  To protect library staff, ONLY library personnel are allowed behind the circ area.  Remain behind visible floor tape and furniture barriers.  Please drop off items and get what is needed, being prepared ahead of time is helpful.  Everyone is expected to follow social distancing rules, and limit to 10 people inside the library at one time.

  • Interlibrary Loan Services:  ILL's are open but limited until other libraries open back up to loaning and borrowing.  The library staff will try to fill all requests.  We will hold online request until it becomes available.

  • Donations:  While the library will take donations, we ask that you please keep them to 50 items or less.  Donations are treated the same as other incoming items and need to be quarantined for 72 hours before we can look through them.  Let staff know before bringing materials inside the library.  Please make sure donations are clean, not moldy or covered in dust and dirt.

  • Digital Materials: Access to digital materials from Montanalibrary2GO will continue as unlimited.

  • Internet Access:  Wi-Fi is always on and can be accessed. The public computers are limited access due to safety reasons and social distancing.  If there is something urgent, patrons are asked to let the staff know. If possible, library staff are happy to assist you by printing or looking up information as needed.

  • Census:  If you need to take the Census online, please let one of the library staff know.  Census can be taken by phone, mail in or online.

  • Business and Other Services:  The copy machine, fax and printers are currently not accessible to the public to use.  However, library staff are happy to help and do it for you.

  • Proctor Services: If you need proctoring services, please contact us to schedule an appointment.

  • Reading Room:  The reading room has been temporarily moved to the basement area of the library due to quarantining of books.  Occupancy of the basement is 4 people at a time.  Please use hand sanitizer.  When traffic is busy, patrons are asked to limit their visit to one (1) hour.  Please be aware that the reading room is subject to short-term closures.
